Ingleborough - The Yorkshire Dales
We are blessed in the UK with amazing nature and easy access to amazing walks. Yorkshire is our home county and it is only fitting for us to start our series on walks for beginners here, in the place we know and love. Gods Own County where a friendly welcome is guaranteed for all.
Part of the famous 3 peaks challenge, Ingleborough combines with Pen y Ghent and Whernside, and has become the gruelling 23 mile challenge that is a must have on all serious walkers bucket lists.
However for those just starting out, Ingleborough, while not the highest is arguably the most impressive and rewarding to help you cement that walking bug deep in your heart.
Ensure you have a good pair of walking boots, and equally important a pair of our Extreme Pro Merino Fell walking socks. perfect on a cold day to keep your feet warm and the breathable natural fibres keeping your feet comfortable on a summers hike
On a clear day the views across Yorkshire, The Lake District and the Lancashire coast to the west make every step worthwhile, each time you climb this hill you will encounter an experience different from the last.
The flat summit can be a challenge in bad weather and it is easy to lose your bearings so caution must be exercised on poor weather days.
