Are Bamboo Socks the Eco wonder product they advertised?

Bamboo is not the eco wonder product some would have you believe….

Lots of clothing and apparel companies are promoting garments and socks made of Bamboo, Soft, natural and eco friendly. But is it really as green as people say?

Bamboo is often sold as a natural sustainable eco wonder product. However you don't need to dig very far to see it is actually the opposite of eco friendly. It turns out that bamboo might not be the sustainable wonder product many people think it is. In fact, it can actually be quite harmful to the environment

The bamboo industry is one of the most environmentally destructive industries on the planet. It takes over 150 gallons of water to produce just 1 pound of bamboo fabric, and the processing of the fast growing grass into soft fibres, suitable for clothing (aka Rayon) emits many toxic chemicals like acid, chlorine and formaldehyde that have to be used in the manufacturing process.
